There are several reasons why carbon capture may not work:
- Cost: Carbon capture technology is expensive to install and operate, and it adds to the cost of producing electricity or other products. This makes it less economically viable compared to other forms of energy production.

- Limited capacity: Carbon capture systems can only capture a certain amount of carbon, which means that they may not be able to completely offset the emissions from large industrial facilities.
- Storage: Storing captured carbon dioxide is also a challenge, as it requires expensive and potentially dangerous underground storage. There is also the risk of leakage, which can contribute to global warming.
- Limited adoption: Carbon capture technology is still in the early stages of development, and it has not yet been widely adopted. This means that it is not yet a proven solution to reducing carbon emissions.
